Desk Research

Observation.png
What is it?

Desk research, also named secondary research, is a research method which uses existing data, review them to gain a broad understanding of the context. You gather prior research findings which help in the field of your study. It is one of the cheapest and quickest methods.

How can I use it?

Firstly describe the subject of your research. Then determine the sources where you can get the most relevant data suitable to your study. These can be both digital (internet based) or physical (printed matter). Collect them and analyze.

When can I use it?

You can commonly use it during project start-up or before primary research planning to get a general view about the context and current situation.
